The club plays team matches against other clubs, and puts forward a scratch team to play in the annual West Perthshire Trophy, and also a handicap team for the Ochil League.

Club Competitions – Gentlemen

Each Saturday and Monday from April to October, members can take part in stroke-play competitions, some played off the white tees and others off the yellows, but all counting for handicap purposes.

On Saturdays, the tee is reserved for competitors between 8.30am and 10am; booking is not required, and anyone wanting to take part can simply turn up and will be welcome to join in. Check the Fixture List for details.

On Mondays, there are no particular starting times, but members are encouraged to invite any single players who wish to take part to join them.

There are also scratch and handicap knockout competitions, and mixed foursomes competitions.

On Tuesdays, Gentleman members over 55 years of age ("the Seniors”) meet at 8.30 for 9am (9 for 9.30am in winter) to play 9 holes with a shotgun start and a draw for partners; the course is therefore closed to other players till around 11am. The shotgun start ensures that all participants start and finish their rounds at the same time, and enjoy a coffee, a dram and a sausage roll together at the end. The games are very informal and great fun, with golf ball prizes (and a sweetie) presented at the end.

The Seniors are a very active and sociable group, and joining in is a very good way of getting to know people in the club. Members of all standards (but advanced age) are very welcome to come along.

There are also inter-club Seniors matches, a very popular Seniors Outing and a Winter League.

Club Competitions – Seniors

On one Tuesday a month during the season, the Seniors have a non-shotgun competition off the yellow tees over 18 holes, starting at 8am; these are played off national handicaps. For those who don’t want to play 18 holes, though, the usual Tuesday 9-hole gathering also goes ahead.
